55-319 Hawi Rd., Hawi, HI, 96719

A taste of old Hawaii paradise: this 3.45 acre property (fully fenced) is a hidden gem at the bottom of Hawi Road, where you are in a 'sweet spot' of wonderful weather. As you enter the first electric gate, you pass your only visible neighbor home and come to a second stainless steel electric entry gate. A row of magnificent palms lead the way to the first building you see: a stunning reconstructed 150 year old Amish barn, shipped to the land from Indiana in 2012. Heavy grade corrugated iron was shipped from Colorado for roofing, painted to create a rustic look to complement the barn. Old beams (hard as rock!) were strategically used for structural posts and crossbeams. The high ceilings in great room feature 4x10 pressure treated lumber which was hand hewed. At each end of this high ceiling is a custom, intricate stained glass work of art beautifully capturing sunlight. The floors of polished concrete are a nice match to the decor. There are 2* bedrooms, 1.5 baths, a separate laundry/utility room, and enclosed outdoor shower. Beside the 'Barn' is a small outbuilding housing the pump for the WELL belonging to this property, and a source of great water for irrigating the extensive mature landscaping. Of course there is also County Water for household use. As you meander through the colorful garden with a host of beautiful flowering shrubs, palms and bamboo, you will come to a 20x20 open "Hula Hale', a covered space with ohia posts and wood flooring...perfect for quiet sitting to enjoy clean air and ocean views. A lava rock wall below opens to a natural stone and grass stairway to the Main house, which is 1 bed/2 bath plus loft and generous screened-in lanai. Built in 2003, and designed by architect Jack Hoyt, with a highly engineered foundation. Outside nestled in the palms is a stone bathtub & lava shower for heated moonlight baths. With so much personality, beauty and artistic charm, you must see to appreciate. Comes tastefully decorated and fully furnished.
